Does Andy Samberg use Pheromones?

So Andy Samberg bagged a pretty elf, Joanna Newsom:

He flirted with and hung out with Natalie Portman:

He made out with Drew Barrymore:

He dated Kirsten Dunst:

And he made out with and flirted with Scarlett Johansson:

So...

Is Andy Samberg using pheromones????

Let's dig deep to see what the symptoms would be. We'll head to one of the top pheromone sites on the Web to investigate...

Home of human pheromones:

They've got pheromones for men to use to attract women:

And they've got pheromones for women to use to attract men:

Have you guys checked out the new studies on Pheromones?

Even if Andy doesn't use pheromones, I think some of us guys are going to have to start using them in order to compete with the likes of Andy Samberg. =^)

PHEROMONE COLOGNE INCREASES SEXUAL ACTIVITY

Seattle--Topical application of synthesized male pheromones increases the sexual attractiveness of men to their partners, according to Pennsylvania researchers.

The odorless, clear alcohol-based liquid contains a chemical copy of "the natural substance given off by healthy virile men in their 20s that makes them so attractive to women," said researcher Winnifred Cutler, Ph.D., president of the Athena Institute for Women's Wellness in Haverford, PA.

In a study of 38 men, those who added the new pheromone to their own aftershave for eight weeks reported that they were busier sexually--engaging in significantly more hugging, kissing and sexual intercourse with their female partners--than before the study, the Pennsylvania researcher reported at the annual meeting of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine.

Masturbation rates in the two groups were similar, indicating that the product works by attracting women, not by increasing a man's sex drive.

In the new study, 38 men added a few drops of either the pheromone-alcohol solution or alcohol alone to their usual aftershave for eight weeks.

None of the men knew what they were getting; they were told only that they "were testing a product designed to improve the romance in their lives," .

The men all kept a diary of their sexual activities, which were compared with their sex lives before the study began.

Eight weeks later, 47% of the men using the pheromone reported that they engaged in more sexual intercourse since using the cologne, compared with 9.5% of the placebo users.

Thirty-five percent of pheromone users reported they slept with women more often, compared with 5% of placebo users.

Check out the site for a ton of more articles in case you want to learn more about pheromones.

So what do you think? Do you think Andy's humor gets him the ladies or is he using pheromones? =^)

Enjoy!

The NBC volcano is restless and Orlando beckons...

Nice random volcano. And Orlando is nice and random.

Kristen is hilarious!!!!

Cold Open: McCain Approves

Summary: John McCain (Darrell Hammond) approves of various semi-truthed Barack Obama negative attack ads.

I still want Darrell to do McCain, Tina Fey to do Palin, and Amy Poehler to do Cindy McCain in one skit. Kristen might be able to do a good Palin if they can't get Tina.

Digital Short: Hey. (Murray Hill)

Summary: While at a party at "Murray Hill", Sean (James Franco) deliberately tells women about his small ding-dong in hopes of impressing them.

Lonely Island got its start mocking TV teen dramas (The Bu) and has continued to do that on SNL (The Shooting / Dear Sister). This is a natural extension, but I didn't find it very funny.

The second woman is Blake Lively from Gossip Girl (thanks Anony, for the comment). Does she know James Franco, or perhaps she's just a fan of SNL and agreed to cameo?

The Looker

Summary: In a new police drama on TNT, Penny Marshall (Fred Armisen) plays an interrogator who can get a confession out of perps by just staring at them intently.

Andy! Andy! Andy! Andy!

Kings of Leon perform "Sex on Fire"

Overall, Andy Samberg was in the OJ Jury Selection, The Looker, and James & Willem DeFoe (no video). It's interesting in the last skit that Bill Hader played Willem asking James Franco to kill Andy Samberg for the portrayal Andy did of Willem.

I wish Andy got his own skit, but there were a few funny bits there that Andy added to.

-----------------------

Wow, just as Lauren said, Andy Samberg was only in one skit this week (or only noticable in one). What a let down.

Sometimes, they plan on airing a Digital Short featuring Andy Samberg, and so they don't want to load too many skits on Andy. Then the short ends up getting cut from dress because the audience didn't laugh hard enough. This has happened in the past with a few digital shorts, including Nurse Nancy (got pot-poned three times before they aired it) and a sketch where Andy is a cop with lobster claws (never got shown on TV).

So perhaps that happened here. It seems like that might be the case seeing how there's so little of Andy in this episode and there is no digital short.

Lots of Kenan though. Grrr.

And next week is Anne Hathaway. Good, a fourth new one in a row. Come on, SNL! We need some more Andy shorts now!!! Space Olympics isn't enough!!!

Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin again on 9/27/08

Tina Fey plays Sarah Palin again. Amy Poehler plays Katie Couric. So they play off each other again; two weeks ago it was as Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton.

I still think they should do a skit where Tina is Sarah Palin, Darrel Hammond is John McCain, and Amy Poehler is Cindy McCain.

Who were the guys playing the presidents?

I was hoping to see Andy Samberg in there but alas... no Andy.

More Laser Cats this season

This season, SNL devotees can expect to see the return of Laser Cats, an online favourite with SNL cyberdudes and dudettes.

"I think everyone hopes so," Laser Cats' Andy Samberg said in an interview earlier this summer when asked about his creation's possible return.

"Including the cat," Saturday Night Live regular Jason Sudeikis chimed in.

"We don't want to trot it out if the material's not there," Samberg said, deadpan. "We want to make sure we maintain quality control. We don't want to just cash in. It's an integrity issue."

So, there you have it: Michael Phelps, Lil Wayne, a possible appearance by Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, more of Fred Armisen's Fauxbama and Laser Cats - but with integrity. What more could one ask for?

Introducing the Bobby Moynihan Blog!!!

Introducing the Bobby Moynihan Blog!!!

That's right! We're at it again!

We started a blog about newcomer Bobby Moynihan. It's our second celebrity blog.

http://bobbymoynihan.blogspot.com/

While we weren't huge fans of his Pepper (Uno's) skit, it still took a lot for him to get a lead skit in his very first episode, the crowd enjoyed the skit thoroughly, and we've had several fans here on the blog.

Then, in his second episode, he was the lead in the Of Mice and Men skit, and that's what did it for us and made us realize his genious. He went from a gay waiter who likes pepper in the first episode to a witty turn as Lenny who gets lied to in the second episode. Bobby Moynihan has something special, and we're sure he'll go on to great things. He's exactly what SNL needs right now. They need someone who can come in and do some clever characters. He's no Will Ferrell, but if he keeps it up, he might fill the "character" gap that's been missing since Will Ferrell owned it (with support from Molly, Cheri, and Chris Katan).

Andy Samberg Blog Update - Introducing Andy Samberg's Love Life

Introducing Andy Samberg's Love Life

However, "Andy Samberg's Love Life," is actually a list of links on this blog! Just look over on the right (and maybe down a little).

Anonymous had a good point, the pics of Andy kissing Joanna Newsom don't belong in a video list. They belong in this list.

We're listing out all the news, pics, and videos on Andy's love life, (including flirting).

So we'll fill out those pages a little and link to some other good images from those pages.

Did Andy Samberg date Natalie Portman?

Samberg has allegedly dated actress Kirsten Dunst and subsequently actress Natalie Portman in 2006[5] and is currently dating musician Joanna Newsom.[6]

Then the #5 reference goes here...

Has Natalie Portman found Saturday Night Love with funnyman Andy Samberg?

A source tells Us Weekly that the 25-year-old actress is dating the Saturday Night Live star, who has also been linked with Kirsten Dunst, 25.

Portman appeared opposite Samberg, 28, in a hilarious rap video mocking her Little Miss Perfect persona when she hosted SNL in March 2006, but she didn’t begin seeing him until after she and longtime on-and-off beau Gael García Bernal, 28, recently split.

“If Andy is dating Natalie, I’m extremely jealous,” Samberg’s castmate, Kenan Thompson, 29, tells Us.

A Portman source has equal praise: “A nice Jewish boy would be good for her.”

From:

---------------------

Right. So we know that people wanted Andy to date Natalie (Natalie partially lives in Israel, so I'm sure all her family and friends want her to date a nice Jewish boy). And I'm pretty sure they hit it off on the show and hung out afterwards. But that doesn't mean they dated. I was surprised to see Wikipedia state it as a fact. One source and two friends thinking its a good idea doesn't make it true.

Here it is from Andy's mouth:

Andy Samberg - Cloudy with a Chance of Meatball

More news on the new 3D animated film that Andy Samberg will star in alongside Bill Hader and Anna Farris. This is Andy's second animated film (which is odd, since he's only had one live-action film). (This is also Bill Hader's first lead role, oddly enough.)

Stars Dig into Sony’s Meatballs

Sony Pictures Animation has announced the voice cast for its next CG-animated feature film, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. The adaptation of the well-known children’s book will feature the voices of Bill Hader (Saturday Night Live), Anna Faris (The House Bunny), James Caan (The Godfather), Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live), Bruce Campbell (The Evil Dead trilogy), Mr. T (Rocky III) and Tracy Morgan (30 Rock). The movie will be released in stereoscopic 3D on January 15, 2010.

Written and directed by Chris Miller and Phil Lord, Cloudy is based on author Judi Barrett’s and illustrator Ron Barrett’s book about a land where food begins raining down from the skies. Hader, who has appeared in the films Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall, will voice Flint Lockwood, a young inventor who dreams of creating something that will improve everyone's life. Caan will be Tim Lockwood, Flint's technophobic father, and Faris takes on the role of Sam Sparks, a weathergirl covering the phenomenon. Samberg, who recently voiced a lead role in the Vanguard Animation/Starz Media CG toon Space Chimps, will play Brent, the town bully who has plagued Flint since childhood, while Campbell takes on the role of Mayor Shelbourne, who figures out that Flint's invention can put the town, and himself, on the map. Mr. T is by-the-rules town cop Earl Devereaux, and Tracy Morgan is Earl's rule-breaking son, Cal.

Pam Marsden is producing the pic for Sony Pictures Animation. The film follows on the heels of Surf's Up, which was nominated for last year’s Academy Award for Best Animated Feature and picked up two Annie Awards. Sony Animation made its debut with the animal tale Open Season, which did well at the box office and was Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s second best-selling title in 2007.

"Andy Samberg, (a riot as a homeless man Cera's Nick stumbles upon at a church around 3am). Sollett spoke of Samberg's willingness to improv and the multiple takes filmed. His favorite alternate take was hilarious and probably better than what was used, but this is a film trying to get a PG-13 rating, so all you out there will have to wait for the DVD to hopefully see a gag reel. I really hope it gets on there because I'd love to see Cera's reaction to the raunchy exchange."

Alex thinks Andy Samberg got his Space Olympics character from Electric Dream Machine

I don't think they're all that close, but there is a slight coincidence here of stupid comedy style and costume. So I chalk it up to coincidence. There aren't too many jokes out there that someone else isn't also using cuz they thought of it independently.

But see if you agree with Alex...

Its Always Sunny On SNL

Saturday Night Live returned from hiatus last night, with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin (as Lorne Michaels wanted) and Michael Phelps hosting.

Still, there was one skit—this week’s digital short—that gave me a sense of déjà vu. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it until this morning.

The short features Andy Samberg, singing a song about the 3022 “Space Olympics.” Yeah, it is pretty funny, if not bizarre.

I couldn’t shake the feeling that I had seen Samberg’s look, his costume, hair, and voice, somewhere before. It hit me a little while ago. Electric Dream Machine.

See for yourself, below is last night’s digital short (courtesy NBC via Hulu), and a clip of Electric Dream Machine from Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia (courtesy FX via Hulu). Be advised, Its Always Sunny probably isn’t for kiddies.

Tim liked Andy Samberg's Cathy impression

"SNL": Fey as Palin funny; the rest not. As usual.

Thank [Shuba] for TiVo. How many times have we all said that? I know this is coming in as a bit redundant given some of the comments on the last post, but so much for the ounce of anticipation I had over the return of "Saturday Night Live" in an election year. I thought the opening skit with Tina Fey as Sarah Palin was as good as I'd hoped it would be in my imagination the day Palin was announced as McCain's VP candidate. The rest? Woeful. Absolutely painful to watch. About the only thing I liked was Andy Samberg doing a beautifully twisted and absurd impression of the "Cathy" comic strip. The rest? It's 90 minutes long for what reason again?

Andy Samberg - With Joanna Newsom at Ruby Foo's (9/13/08)

Check out the bold parts:

Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, sharing a little post-Saturday Night Live date during an afterparty for the show at Ruby Foo's in New York's Times Square. Lively arrived first, followed by her beau, a bit later. When he arrived, the Gossip Girl star traipsed around the restaurant looking like a lost puppy when at first he couldn't find her. Ultimately they were reunited and sat next to each other, knees touching, at the same dinner table, where they sampled the dim sum. Meanwhile, the show's host, Michael Phelps has his own date for the night – his mom, Debbie! The Olympian also mingled with friends and signed plenty of autographs. And SNL star Andy Samberg spent time with his musician girlfriend Joanna Newsom at the party.

New SNL Player - Bobby Moynihan - Is he annoying?

Check out our new Bobby Moynihan blog:

http://www.bobbymoynihan.blogspot.com/

------------------------------------------

Bobby Moynihan

Wiki-introduction:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bobby_Moynihan

Bobby Moynihan (born January 31, 1977) is an American actor and comedian who joined the cast of Saturday Night Live for its 34th season.[1]

In summer 2008, Moynihan had a supported role in the popular web-series The Line, an online video project funded by Lorne Michaels' production company, directed by SNL head writer Seth Meyers, and starring SNL cast members Bill Hader and Jason Sudeikis. He is a regular improv/sketch actor at New York City's popular Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and on many Sunday nights he can be found improvising with fellow SNL alumni (such as UCB Theater co-founder Amy Poehler) in the theater's long-running hit improv show ASSSSCAT 3000. In years past, he submitted scripts to SNL with his comedy writing partner Charlie Sanders. -----------------------------------

On Bobby's first episode of SNL, they gave him a skit that he wrote:

New guy Bobby makes attempts at character comedy. If all Bobby has is these gay guy sticks, then he is not going to stand out. We'll see, some of his other skits are pretty funny.

Did he get reccommended from his work for Amy? He must have some great writing if he's been writing for UCB, Human Giant, Conan, and SNL before this.

Bobby joins Andy Samberg and others as a guy younger than SNL.

Andy Samberg - Hosts the Space Olympics (Digital Short)

Andy Samberg Hosts the Space Olympics in 3022

s.34 : ep.1 |03:02

The year is 3022 and this galactic sporting event is having some financial issues

Yeah. Um. Mostly weird. Really funny in parts. But, um, why is this a song? =^)

I think it would be funnier just to come up with fake olympic events.

However, they deserve mad props for the effects. Cheesey? Yes, but I know how much work they put into those effects and the amount of work blows me away. Mad props.

What's your favorite part?

Good parts of this video:

- The music
- The cheesey effects
- Drug tests are mandatory (shows pee) - You're a winner
- We don't cover incidentals, so keep... out of the mini bar
- No curfew... No light or sounds
1 - Michael Phelps appearance
1 - Was that Ryan Lochte?
- All other events are pending
- Explosion at the end

Andy should still do an impression of Ryan Lochte, before everyone forgets about Ryan.

Enjoy!

Tina Fey should play Sarah Palin on SNL!!!!

Updated 9/14/08

Well, we nailed it. As soon as Sarah Palin was announced as the running mate to McCain, we told everyone that Tina Fey should come onto SNL a few times this season to play Sarah Palin. We were even more sure SNL was planning to do it when...

We noticed that Tina Fey's episode from last season was rerun the Saturday before the season premiere.

Sure enough. The opening of the first episode of the 08-09 season of SNL featured Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin. And she was joined by Hilary Clinton. Why Hilary Clinton? Simple; Amy Poehler's impression of Hilary is hilarious and very popular. They had to get her in before Hilary Clinton falls into obscurity forever (and ever and ever and ever). Add on top of that: Tina and Amy are close friends and love working together.

Check out the hilarious opening duelogue (isn't that what the word ought to be?) with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler:

On Fox News (shows a side by side comparison):

Oh, wow. They slam Fred Armisen's Obama impression. I thought it was well liked.

Check out the transcript for this skit:

http://snltranscripts.jt.org/08/08apalin.phtml

Of course, I still want to see Amy do a Cindy McCain, Darrell do a John McCain, and Tina do Sarah Palin. Bring it on, SNL!!!

Kelli Girl made a video that compares Tina Fey with Sarah Palin:

Originally posted on 8/29...

-----------

Lorne needs to go grab Tina Fey right now, and get her to do cameo guest spots on SNL this season.

Tina needs to play Sarah Palin, the new Vice Presidential nominee for the Republicans.

More about Sarah Palin:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarah_Palin

Tina Fey looks exactly like her!!!

Of course, I'm sure they'll dress Amy Poehler up and have her give a go at Sarah, but Tina is a perfect match for Sarah Palin.

SNL's trailer for their upcoming election hijinks:

[SNIP] They deleted it.

So, what is this doing on a blog about Andy Samberg? Well, I don't have a blog about Tina Fey so back off!!!!!

How come nobody selects a vice presidential condidate who is male, young, Jewish, and sports a white-boy fro? =^)

Enjoy!

Andy Samberg's Doppleganger - Transcript

Here's the transcript for Andy Samberg's Doppleganger

Season 31: Episode 14: Matt Dillon / Arctic Monkeys

An SNL Digital Short: Doppleganger

Written by: Akiva Schaffer, Jorma Taccone, Andy Samberg

.....Seth Meyers
.....Andy Samberg
.....Will Forte
Street Bum.....Horatio Sanz

[FADE IN on three guys in shirts and ties sitting on a sidewalk bench and eating their lunches.]

Seth Meyers: [points] Oh, my God. That guy over there totally looks like you, Will.

Will Forte: What? Where?

Seth Meyers: Over there on the bench.

[CUT to Will standing with one foot on a sidewalk bench. He is dressed exactly the same except for a fake mustache.]

Will Forte: THAT guy? No way, he doesn't look like me.

Seth Meyers: Doesn't that look like him?

Andy Samberg: He looks like you.

Seth Meyers: I mean, you have to imagine him without the mustache, but he's a dead ringer.

Will Forte: Okay, I guess so. That's pretty good. Okay, Seth, I'm gonna try to find you.

Seth Meyers: Good luck.

[Will peers at passersby.]

Will Forte: Boom. Right there. [points to left]

Seth Meyers: No, where?

Will Forte: Over there by the wall.

[CUT to Seth standing on the sidewalk and dressed exactly the same except for a top hat.]

Seth Meyers: [with his mouth full] Oh, c'mon, that guy looks nothing like me.

Will Forte: Oh, my God, Andy, doesn't that look like Seth?

Andy Samberg: It looks like you.

Seth Meyers: What? That guy's got a big top hat, he doesn't look anything like me.

Will Forte: Well, you gotta imagine him without the top hat. He's your doppelganger, man.

[Seth covers up the "lookalike's" top hat with two fingers.]

Seth Meyers: I guess, you know--yeah, I see it. All right, let's do Andy.

Will Forte: Okay.

[They all scan the streets for a long moment.]

Seth Meyers: [points] There he is.

Will Forte: [points] Wait, I got one too.

Seth Meyers: By the trash can?

Will Forte: Same one. Oh, my God, that is YOU, Andy.

[CUT to a street bum dressed in an green Army surplus jacket, bright red mittens, and jeans cut off at the calves.]

Andy Samberg: THAT guy?

Will Forte: Yeah, that guy.

Andy Samberg: He doesn't look anything like me.

Will Forte: What, he looks EXACTLY like you.

Seth Meyers: I mean, you gotta look past the gloves.

Andy Samberg: Hey, it's not the gloves. That guy's a LOSER.

Will Forte: Fine, who do YOU think he'd look like?

Andy Samberg: I don't know. [points to right] How about THAT guy?

[CUT to Andy standing against a wall and dressed exactly the same except for a bright green bandanna around his neck.]

Will Forte: Yeah, that guy does not look ANYTHING like you. He's wearing a green bandanna around his neck.

Seth Meyers: Yeah, I know--the first guy, that guy's your twin.

Andy Samberg: THAT guy.

[In disgust, Andy stands up and walks over next to the street bum.]

Andy Samberg: You think I look like THIS guy! [points at bum]

Will Forte: Well, not now, he's wearing those gloves.

Andy Samberg: Okay, fine!

[Andy pulls off the bum's gloves and throws them to the ground. The bum stands idly.]

Andy Samberg: How about now?

[Seth stands up and looks bewildered.]

Seth Meyers: Now I... now I can't tell 'em apart! Which one's Andy?

Andy Samberg: You gotta be KIDDING me!

[Will and Seth stare for a moment, and then Will aims a handgun at them.]

Will Forte: I don't know which one to shoot.

Andy Samberg: WHAT?! Why even shoot ANYONE?!

Seth Meyers: Wait. We can ask him something that only Andy knows! Andy, what do you think about sandwiches?

Andy Samberg: I--uh--I--I love them!

Seth Meyers: Andy does love sandwiches.

Will Forte: EVERYONE loves sandwiches!

Seth Meyers: You're right. Take the shot.

Andy Samberg: DON'T take the shot!!

Seth Meyers: TAKE THE SHOT!!!

[CUT abuptly to black as a gunshot rings out. CUT to Seth and Will back on the bench. The street bum sits between them in his green jacket and finishes Andy's lunch.]

Will Forte: [sheepishly] I shot the wrong guy.

Seth Meyers: Yeah.

[They sit motionless for a moment.]

Seth Meyers: Back to work?

Will Forte: Back to work. [to bum] Let's go, bozo.

[All three stand up at once and walk calmly away. FADE slowly to black.]
