Andy Grieser didn't like the second Andy promo

From Andy G...

Dear "Saturday Night Live": You had us, and then you lost us.

We were already wary of "Gossip Girl" star Blake Lively's comedic turn for Saturday's show, but the first promo got us interested. I mean, come on, it was cute, Lively and Andy Samberg gasping at a real-life pair of magic pants.

Then, unfortunately, we were given a taste of what too often passes for humor on "SNL": a grown man joking about his virginity to a beautiful woman, but in the hammiest, Jim Carrey-est way possible.

Watch the promos for yourself:

So I disagree. I think Andy's virginity joke was just as silly/dorky as the magical pants. Plus there are some Jim Carrey elements to the Gossip Girl gag, but Jim was more about the voices and faces than the actual words like Andy randomly spits (for example, the random words that Andy said in last episode's Mellow Show). So I think Andy's humor is random and unique on both jokes.

Enjoy!

  1. I could be wrong, but those magical pants look a lot like the ones worn by Bobby Moynihan's character in the "What Up With That?" skit from two weeks ago.
