When the producers of the CMT Music Awards were looking for an unexpected way to open the show, Swift was excited when approached about working with T-Pain. Accepting the offer, she quickly arrived at a different take on one of her hits and said, “We’ll take ‘Love Story’ and make it ‘Thug Story.’”

Here's Thug Story:
Hahahaha! They even refer to "I'm on a Boat." The gag at the end with her not swearing was hilarious!
Is it just me, or does her rap voice sound almost identical to Natalie Portman's rap:
Natalie Raps
And the behind the scenes video of them recording the song:
And because the beat was prepped and timing aced (from the original Love Story), it took them a record 90 minutes to record it.
Right, so basically the CMT producers tried to draw off the success of Andy Samberg and other awards shows. Not only do they put Taylor Swift into Star Trek (why not put her into country music videos?) just like Andy Samberg, but they also tried the winning formula that I'm On a Boat used, by tapping T-Pain for a comedy rap (borrowing heavily from TLI's I'm On a Boat and Natalie Raps).
Good thing Taylor Swift is such a huge fan of Andy Samberg; that makes it easier for Andy fans to enjoy her spoof as an homage to Andy and TLI.
Enjoy!
