This is classic Andy! He takes a decent impression and simplifies it down to something as silly as talking to animals! There is no good reason why this should be funny, but Andy's performance, the fact that this skit is what it is, and the reaction shots of the animals make this incredibly simple Andy Samberg skit absolutely hilarious!!!
Note: This sketch was cut from the dress rehearsal for last season's episode hosted by Steve Carell.
Andy must have really believed in this skit and pitched it again. He must have tried to sell it better, but for whatever reason, last season this skit didn't work in the dress rehearsal, and this season he pulled it off, and it got some great audience laughter!!!
