So this wasn't an official visit where Andy was a guest (he already did that earlier this year). Instead Andy came on doing a bit as "Jewey Fallon," Jimmy's very Jewish cousin. Andy might be the first person to do an impression of Jimmy Fallon (at least on TV like this).

I'd love to see him bust out his Jimmy Fallon impression on SNL as well.

Andy Samberg & TLI - in an ABC interview

We already posted this video, but if you haven't seen this interview, you should. Lydia just reminded us of it. It's a great video for recapping The Lonely Island's success, ending with Andy hosting the MTV Movie Awards this year.

Andy and The Lonely Island talk about how they had their Web site up in 2000 or 2001 and how not a lot of people could watch it then (due to compatibility, accessibility (not a lot of people knew about it), and because the Internet wasn't as prolific then). They talk about how the Internet became more important and valuable to them after they got on television, starting in late 2005 (that's when YouTube became popular and a lot more people had access to the Internet).

A few more people know about Andy now. This is Andy's second time at Comic Con (first was in 2007 for Hot Rod). Andy likes being called a "Hot Nerd" and "Hot Glasses Wearer." Andy feels bad for the crazy lives of the Twilight kids. Andy admits that he didn't watch Twilight until he was prepping for the MTV Movie Awards (I knew it!!!).

First of all, if you don’t know who The Lonely Island is, I truly feel bad for you. Go watch “Nintendo Cartoon Hour” right this second. It’s one of the biggest and best LOLs on the Internet, new or old, and it’s actually worth the 2:55 minutes of your valuable Internet-memeing time. When you’re done with that, you then need to listen to The Lonely Island’s new comedy/ R&B booty jam album Incredibad.



But back to the four of you who don’t know who The Lonely Island is, even though you probably do. They’re Akiva Schaffer, Andy Samberg, and Jorma Taccone (you’ve seen him in Gnarls Barkley’s “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” video), and they’re the comedy writer/performer/ beat-makers behind some of your favorite segments on Saturday Night Live, including, but not limited to “Lazy Sunday” (AKA, the FUNNIEST VIRAL VIDEO EVER) until they created “D–--k In A Box” (it won an Emmy!). Remember “Natalie’s Rap,” featuring a potty-mouthed Natalie Portman dropping rhymes about doing lines and dumping deuces in shoes? They did that too. And, chances are you’ve also feasted on the fruits of “J--z In My Pants” and “I’m On A Boat.”




Chances are also that you knew all of that and that you already own Incredibad, The Lonely Island’s musical debut, which features all of the aforementioned songs as well as an amazing gem about Santana (Carlos, not Juelz) champagne, and cameos by Norah Jones, Jack Black, E-40, T-Pain (more on him in a bit), and unofficial fourth Lonely Islander, Justin Timberlake.

Some more Lonely Island background for those of you just now emerging from your voluntary coma: You’ve seen Andy Samberg on Saturday Night Live and in Hot Rod, but Akiva Schaeffer and Jorma Taccone write for SNL too, and they’re pretty much living the normal guy-BFF dream, since they met in junior high days, spent bro time listening to incredibly bad/ great R&B jams and dreaming of the day Santana would finally make an adult beverage. Eventually they started making comedy videos (again, seriously, watch “Nintendo Cartoon Hour”) under the name The Lonely Island. After a few aborted attempts at their own comedy series (thanks FOX… er… and MTV…), they eventually caught the eye of Lorne Michaels, who brought them aboard the SNL mothership, which is how they winded up on a boat… with T-Pain. Who’s actually Jewish, it turns out. (Welcome to the tribe, Faheem!)

Recently, Andy, Akiva, and Jorma stopped by Fort Buzzworthy to share four more things you didn’t know about Incredibad (five, really, but I already up and spoiled one).

Nice interview that talks about Akiva's music video work, reminds them that TLI already made a movie (Hot Rod), and talks about how the digital shorts came about.

Bing Bong Brothers was a demo of the skits, and so they got to do Lettuce (Will Forte's idea) and Narnia Rap (a collab with Chris where they were originally thinking of rapping with him on Weekend Update).

Andy Samberg - Interview for MTV Movie Awards

Yet another interview Andy did for the MTV Movie Awards.

Andy Samberg Prepares For 'Volatile' And 'Sexy' Movie Awards

With the MTV Movie Awards only hours away (at 9 p.m. ET, to be exact), host Andy Samberg is preparing the only way he knows how: by getting massaged by an older gentleman.

"I feel really relaxed," he told MTV News. "I got my game face on, my Rocky face. ... [I have] an older dude massaging me, but that's pretty standard."



Samberg may not want to get too relaxed, given how he's described his show opener. "It's volatile," he said. "It's gonna excite people. It's sexy. It's gonna titillate. It's disgusting, and plenty of celebrities are in it. I'm in it also."

He jokingly added that despite all the craziness expected to happen during the show and behind the scenes, "I'm not into excitable things. I just like to relax."



Of the slew of celebrities expected to appear at the show, Samberg does have an idea of some people he'd really like to meet, including Jim Carrey, who he says is one of his heroes. He's also hoping to talk to one of the night's big musical performers. "Eminem for sure," he said. "I've been down with his stuff for a long time."

Samberg won't be the only comedian in the room with the likes of Danny McBride, Will Ferrell and Carrey expected to show up, but the "SNL" star is confident he'll kick their butts in the funny department, at least for one night.

"I'm gunna smash them," he said. "Tonight's my night. You get out of my way, other nice, funny guys.' "
