Full Episode: SNL 11/7/09 - Taylor Swift

Update: Adding some NBC videos, because Hulu wants to know when you were born. Grrrr. Added all the videos and a backstage video as well. Enjoy! Originally posted 11/8.
=================

We're relieved! Andy Samberg was in full swing this week with a record-breaking 8 skits! Bill Hader was in record-breaking 9 skits! Taylor was also in all 9 and 11 total. There were more skits than usual because they were all shorter.

I wish Taylor and Andy collabed on a song, but we still have hope. He can just call her over and do it anytime. She doesn't have to be hosting. (T-Payne in I'm On a Boat, Justin Timberlake appearing in Ji** In My Pants, and Adam Levine in Iran So Far are examples of that.)

Backstage with Jason and Taylor

Jason talks to Taylor about her hosting experience.

Full Episode:

Cold Opening - Fox News: End Of An Era

Fred Armisen ... Joe Trippi
Will Forte ... Brit Hume
Bill Hader ... Shepard Smith
Bobby Moynihan ... Karl Rove
Jason Sudeikis ... Glenn Beck
Kenan Thompson ... Juan Williams
Kristen Wiig ... Greta Van Susteren

Glen Beck, Greta Van Susteren and friends celebrate the election.

Bobby's Karl is hilarious.

Monologue

Taylor Swift
Bill Hader ... security guard
Jason Sudeikis ... security guard

Taylor opens the show with an original song.

TAE: Taylor flubs the beginning a little. Good joke about her being young. So they didn't "Kanye" her. Too obvious I guess. But they did mention the joke more from Taylor's perspective. Great job!

TISHA: I loved the monologue, although like I was and we all were really expecting someone from the cast or celeb cameo to come up and interrupt her, they didn't so Tay gave us a hilarious substitute instead a SONG! And yeah she did flubbed when she said the 'Night' in ''Saturday Night Live'', probably because this was all a big thrill to her and was so excited and nervous at the same time.

Commercial - Carter N' Sons BBQ

Fred Armisen ... patron
Bobby Moynihan ... Ronnie Carter
Nasim Pedrad ... patron
Andy Samberg ... patron
Jason Sudeikis ... patron

Catch some swine fever!

TISHA: Haha, I loved the ''Carter N' Sons'' commercial, Bobby was hilarious and so was Andy, ''My doctor said Swine Fever is gonna be the death of me!'', love that line ;). If they come up with a new Best of Commercials Special or/and DVD this needs to be on there for sure. Also Andy really need some characters, it would be awesome if they made a recurring cowboy skit with him.

Show - The View

Taylor Swift ... Kate Gosselin
Fred Armisen ... Joy Behar
Nasim Pedrad ... Barbara Walters
Andy Samberg ... Nicolas Cage
Kenan Thompson ... Whoopi Goldberg
Kristen Wiig ... Elisabeth Hasselbeck

Kate Gosslin guests at the table.

TAE: Taylor was a bit wooden and nervous as Kate. Andy's Nicholas Cage was amazing! Kristen's Elizabeth was a bit annoying and mean. I didn't really find it funny. Not like Fred's Joy, Kenan's Whoopi, and Nasim's Barbara.

TISHA: I was expecting this season of SNL for them to make fun of the whole ''Jon & Kate'' crap, but was not expecting Taylor as Kate! I agree she was quite stiff and strange as the part, maybe nervous. Anyway, Andy was hilarious with his dead-on impression of Nicholas Cage, loved the reference to ''National Treasure'', both made and saved the skit. Kenan and Kristen were pretty funny in this, not to mention.

SNL Digital Short - firelight

Taylor Swift ... Stella
Fred Armisen ... teacher
Abby Elliott ... Frank
Will Forte ... ranger
Bill Hader ... Phillip Frank
Bobby Moynihan ... frank
Nasim Pedrad ... friend
Andy Samberg ... guy
Andy Samberg ... Lomax
Jenny Slate ... friend
Jason Sudeikis ... frank
Kenan Thompson ... frank

Two worlds collide in this Twilight parody.

TAE: This is an amusing Twilight parody. Andy plays the cool guy at the beginning (looks like a vampire). And then later on he also plays a mummy. Glad he got in the digital short this week. Interestingly, Andy also made fun of Twilight appearing in it during the MTV Movie Awards opening. Taylor Swift also appeared in that short, where she asked Andy out to a dance. So here we are again with another Twilight parody! I'm sad that he didn't do a music video with Taylor, but they can always do it some other time. She doesn't have to be the host (examples: Iran So Far and I'm On a Boat).

TISHA: I was hoping for a song and what not, but your'e right TAE, Taylor does not have to host for her to appear with Andy and do a song with him. But this was pretty great! Loved Tay in it, she was really good in it, Bill was hysterical, look great as Frakenstein, love him. Way to make fun of the overrated 'Twilight'! Although I did want her to do something predominantly with Andy, the parts he was in, especially in the beginning, he looked hott as hell as an Edward/Vampire look-a-like. I was wondering if Andy was the mummy and was correct!

Sketch - Hollywood Dish

Taylor Swift
Bill Hader ... Ray Trunk
Kristen Wiig ... Anastasia Sticks

Taylor Swift is captivating.

TISHA: ''Hollywood Dish'' was funny. Taylor laughing all loud and crazy and when Bill spits his water at Kristen, hilarious.

Commercial - Teens Raising Awareness About Awful Parent Drivers

Taylor Swift ... Samantha Samuels
Abby Elliott ... teenager
Bill Hader ... announcer (voice)
Nasim Pedrad ... GPS (voice)
Jason Sudeikis ... father
Kristen Wiig ... mother

Your parents are terrible drivers.

TAE: Amusing. Love Taylor's braces accent.

TISHA: I loved ''Driving PSA (T.R.A.A.P.D)''. Taylor was amazing as her character Samantha. Tay, Kristen, and Jason were hysterical and I can relate to this, reminds me of my own family, especially my mom! I agree Taylor with the braces and her voice with it was one of the many great things about this!

Musical Performance "You Belong With Me"

Taylor Swift

Weekend Update

Seth Meyers
Fred Armisen ... Nicholas Fehn
Abby Elliott ... Sarah McLachlan
Amy Poehler

Nicholas Fehn

Sharing his original, edgy take on current events.

TAE: Hilarious! I like how he never says anything useful! He should so do a skit where he debates with Kristen Wiig's Judy Grimes (the "I'm sorry" character).

TISHA: Fred as Nicholas Fehn was funny, Fred was rockin' that hair as his character was attempting to come up was hilarious material to shoot back at the political headlines.

Sarah Mclaughlin

The dogs are in a better place...

TAE: Abby busts out another impression and shows why she's valuable on the show. This is hilarious. Check it out! Great singing voice too. =^)

TISHA: Abby really did prove herself of her comedic talent as Sarah McLachlan and she was hilarious, ''There's something else I want to talk about Seth....The dogs....THE DOGS..SETH!'', ''Do be da be da be da day!''. She needs to be on more.. I agree TAE she has a nice voice.. ;)

Really with Seth and Amy

Goldman Sachs in getting shots.

TAE: Amy comes on to do Really! Remember that this bit was Andy Samberg's idea! =^)

TISHA: So happy Amy showed up for ''Really'', I miss her, pretty sure everyone does on SNL, based on her showing up a lot, came back to do ''WU: Thursdays''..

Sketch - Penelope: Wedding Pooper

Taylor Swift ... June
Abby Elliott ... Nicole Parker
Will Forte ... deejay
Bill Hader ... Steve Parker
Andy Samberg ... guest
Kristen Wiig ... Penelope

TISHA: Hehe, Penelope again. I love this skit, its ridiculous. Taylor was good. Great job, Kristen, Andy, and Tay!

Sketch - Scared Straight

Taylor Swift ... Skeet Devlin
Bill Hader ... kid
Bobby Moynihan ... kid
Andy Samberg ... kid
Jason Sudeikis ... Officer Sikorsky
Kenan Thompson ... Lorenzo McIntosh

TAE: I think this is their third one of these Kenan skits. Again, a poor skit for Taylor. She feels very awkward, nervous, and out of place here.

TISHA: ''Scared Straight'' is my favorite Kenan skit and one of my favorite recurring skit period with Andy, Bill, Jason, and sometimes Bobby. I agree it was really awkward for Taylor being in it (she did her best though) and for the skit appearing, neverless it was hysterical, love the reference to ''Back to the Future'' and 'Sound of Music''. The part with Kenan and Tay playing with Bill's face was hilarious, both Tay and Bill broke character a little (especially Bill, not the first time for him, he did it in one of the other previous 'Scared Straights'), then at the end Jason, Andy, Bill, and Bobby all together (Bobby stumbled on his line), I love the fact they had a good time, and were laughing (made it even funnier).. ''1.21 Jizzowats!''

Sketch - Roomies

Taylor Swift ... Anna
Nasim Pedrad ... Lexi
Andy Samberg ... Bennett

Best friends forever.

TAE: Andy's hair is short in this skit. How does he look?
It's cool that Nadim got this skit. Needed a better ending though. Andy should have left and then they could have made out. Or Andy could have gone postal. Or Andy should have thrown Anna (Taylor) out the window or something. =^)

TISHA: ''Roomies'' wasn't very funny to me, although when Nasim was tugging Tay, it was pretty ridiculous, loved Andy, his hair is short and he just looks amazingly hott as he always is. Agree happy to see Nasim have a lead role in a sketch for once, but yeah it really needed a strong ending, that was the weak point. TAE thats a funny idea you have there, if he throwed her the window or anything similar to that it would have made the skit to be funnier than what it was. Maybe SNL needs to hire you! :)

Musical Performance "Untouchable"

Taylor Swift

Commercial - Bunny Business

The greatest movie soundtrack ever.

Taylor Swift ... Shakira
Fred Armisen ... Randy Newman
Abby Elliott ... Christina Aguilera
Bill Hader ... announcer (voice)
Bill Hader ... Eddie Vedder
Andy Samberg ... Adam Duritz
Kenan Thompson ... Jennifer Hudson
Kristen Wiig ... Natalie Merchant

TAE: Taylor's Shakira was amazing! I was also impressed with Kristen's Natalie Merchant, but they were all very funny!

TISHA: ''Bunny Business'' was absolutely hysterical! Taylor was amazing as Shakira (she really did sounded like her)! ''Bunny girls hop on Bunny boys...Eeeeaaahhh....Aaaaauuoooo''.. Andy was hilarious as the lead singer from the Counting Crows and Kenan as Jennifer Hudson was just so ridiculously funny. ''And you and you and you, your gonna pay meeee for this soundtrack......Your gonna pay meeeee....MONEY!!! Kristen was funny too as well as Fred, Abby and Bill (his facial expression was hilarious).

SUMMARY:

I think Taylor did alright. Scared Straight was mostly just funny to watch the actors try to make each other crack. Taylor was too awkward there. And she was a little stiff in The View. Plus she flubbed at the beginning of the Monologue. Other than that, I thought she did a great job. I think she really did a great job on firelight, Shakira, the teenager with braces, Penelope, and the monologue song.

And Roomies was also good, but the ending wasn't strong enough.

I still want Taylor to do a song with Andy!

Thanks to Tisha for the great comments!

Enjoy!!

I have to say.... I'm not too excited about this weeks snl. of course it was great to see andy again, but taylor didn't really blow me away. she was pretty decent and her shakira was spot on.
maybe it's not her fault, the sketches weren't too great in general. I loved the twilight spoof though, (because i hate twilight) and because andy looked hothothot in the 3 seconds we could see his face.

i guess they could do a better job with the writing. the acting is always really good but some of the sketches in this and last years season are just not snl funny. thank god for the digital shorts, they are always good, more please :).

Sorry, late post I know, I would have posted this earlier, but I've been busy. Anyway here it goes:

Sorry, I had to cut this in half because it couldn't take it all:

Sorry for making this long. I wrote in paragraph form this time so it can be easier to read.

Sincerly Tisha-

Tisha,

You always have the coolest comments! I'm going to add your comments in to the post.

Oh, and thanks about writing. =^)

You should check out our favorite video we've done, T-Time with tED:

I heard in an interview that they actually try to get each other to laugh in those Scared Straight videos. So that's all improv and attempts to get Bill, Andy, and Bobby to laugh. Jason does it too.
