His latest film announcement is for I Hate You Dad, where the SNL alum teams up with current SNL cast member Andy Samberg. And while Andy is pretty damn entertaining, I'm not optimistic that he could save a Sandler-starring film. And the premise doesn't help much:
"The story centers on a father (Sandler) who moves in on the eve of his son’s (Samberg) wedding and promptly begins feuding with the bride-to-be.”
Yeah, sounds mediocre at best. At least it doesn't have Sandler playing a rich successful guy again. Or does it? I'm sure he'd find a way to make that happen. Also, there's only two years seperating the two stars, so unless Sandler's character got started on having kids REALLY young, they may have to use some creative age makeup on Sandler. Or make Samberg somehow look younger.

The author, Josh, said the "2" is a typo, and he meant "12". They aren't exactly the 20 years apart (take or lose 4 years) that it would take for Adam to be Andy's dad, but the 12 years makes it doable with makeup on both of them.
Do you agree with Josh? Do you like Sandler films? Do you think this will be any better than Sandler's other recent films?
Sandler's biggest recent hits were The Longest Yard and Grown Up, which, yes, both had him playing a successful, rich dude (as well as did Funny People, Mr. Deeds, Billy Madison, and even 50 First Kisses). But let's face it, he is a successful rich dude, so he's pretty much playing himself. =^)
Enjoy!
