Justin proves once again that he is not a flash in the pan boy band celebrity. The singer/actor received three nominations this year for his work in Saturday Night Live and on the 2008 ESPY’s show (the top awards given in sports).
As most of us know, Justin won an Emmy for his hilarious performance in the music video on SNL, “Dick in a Box.” Even though the video was risqué, the catchy tune and overall originality made it worthy of accolades. He is nominated again this year for his follow up to Box, “Mother Lover,” for which he is nominated again this year. In the video, Timberlake reprises his character from Box starring alongside Andy Samberg for another risqué romp. Susan Sarandon even makes an appearance in the witty video. Although not quite as memorable and catchy as Box, it retains the creativity of its predecessor. Timberlake is also nominated for his performance hosting on the same episode.
Justin’s third nomination is for original music is for original music with his song “I Love Sports,” which premiered when he hosted the ESPY’s last year. Justin’s laid back and fun-loving personality alongside his wit; make him an extremely effective host in any arena. More awards are surely to follow. Keep up the great work Justin.
