"...Emmy-award winner, Andy Samberg!" - It's cool that Andy can be announced that way!

Andy tells the story of how he tried to come up with ideas of impressions for auditioning for SNL and threw together the Swedish Chef impression at the last minute.

Andy's comic influences were Adam Sandler, Chris Farley, Mel Brookes, Monty Python, and Steve Martin (The Jerk). Andy needs to do a musical digital short with Steve Martin! They did Laser Cats 4 together, and Martin and Samberg have appeared in a few skits together, but the man behind "I'm On A Boat" and the man behind "King Tut" need to get together to do a musical short!!! How about a rap or R&B sequel to King Tut? That would be hilarious!!!

Johanna Samberg, Andy's biggest sister, calls in. Her name is "Annie." Andy is geniuinely surprised. His nickname is "Droidy" (Andy... Android... Droid... Droidy... Star Wars fan). Andy is heading to Irvine to his family right after the show.

"Oh, yeah, you gunna get me at the airport? It's gunna be there at like 9:10." - Hilarious!

No, Andy, eating apple pies at McDonalds does not count as "baking a pie."

Funnyman Andy Samberg has been making audiences laugh since 2005 on “Saturday Night Live.” Next week though, the 28-year-old shows just how much his star is on the rise as he takes on the lead role in a feature Hollywood film – the comedy “Hot Rod.”

In the movie, Samberg stars as good-hearted daredevil Rod Kimble, who prepares for a giant jump for charity, earning money for his step-father’s much needed heart operation. The twist? Kimble’s step-father is abusive and he plans to fight his daddy-dearest after the old man recovers.

The funny film is poised to capture the attention of young America, looking for laughs and an on-screen love interest, which pairs Samberg opposite Australian beauty, and Sacha Baron Cohen’s soon-to-be missus, Isla Fisher.

Beyond his box office leap, Samberg’s stomping grounds are the halls of 30 Rock, where Saturdays often find him involved in hilarious SNL music skits.

In 2005, Samberg’s “Lazy Sunday” white boy rap — with Chris Parnell, about the twosomes goal to see “The Chronicles of Narnia,” got more than just TV ratings. The clip was an instant hit on the blossoming YouTube, with people sending the rap the world over.

Another of Samberg’s many comedic musical attempts, “D**k In A Box,” co-starring pop singer Justin Timberlake, also set pulses racing and fans scrambling to write their own parodies of the hilarious clip. Recently, Samberg was shocked, when that song was nominated for an Emmy.

Samberg’s penchant for musical routines on the sketch comedy show has had fans calling him the next Adam Sandler. It certainly wouldn’t be a surprise if the curly-coifed actor followed in Sandler’s footsteps, becoming a big, comedic, box office draw. Following “Hot Rod,” Samberg has a host of upcoming movie projects including “Space Chimps” alongside Stanley Tucci and Christian Chenoweth.

His personal life seems to be going pretty well too. Samberg has been linked with, though declined to comment on, a host of leading ladies including Kirsten Dunst and most recently Natalie Portman.

The Breakdown:

0:08 - "Yeah! I also enjoyed Laser Cats!" Andy actually enjoys his work.

0:21 - TLI weren't really planning; they were just constantly trying to make each other laugh.

0:24 - They grew up in Berkley.

0:46 - "The Whoop Whoop!"

0:49 - He had to audition twice for SNL.

0:56 - It wasn't a failure; they just made him come back for more. It was within a 3 week span.

1:00 - The first time he didn't throw up.

1:26 - The morning of the second audition, he threw up.

1:32 - The auditions were 7-8 minutes. They were different (so I guess he did different jokes). It sounds like they asked him to come back with more characters.

1:35 - He had to make up impressions and characters for the audition.

1:43 - In the audition, he did an impression of the Swedish Chef from the Muppet Show. This skit was done twice on SNL.

1:48 - He did an impression of Jimmy Fallon. I haven't seen him do Jimmy on SNL.

1:49 - He did an impression of Alan Rickman ("McClaine!" from Die Hard). I haven't seen him do Rickman on SNL.

1:54 - He made up characters for the audition.

1:56 - He did the Out of Breath Jogger from 1982. This skit was done once (maybe twice?) on SNL.

1:59 - He made up the jogger character the night before the audition.

2:22 - Lorne really like the jogger character.

2:29 - He gets ideas in the shower.

2:35 - It takes him about 15 minutes to write out his ideas.

2:39 - Sometimes he and the dudes just sit around and talk out ideas.

3:21 - Andy did a joke at a youth hostile. He was drunk when he did his comedy show, and that was his worse show he's ever had.
