SNL Digital Short: Like a Boss

This song is from Andy's The Lonely Island CD, Incredibad. Fans want Boombox next, but this one made sense because the voice features Andy Samberg. Looks like they remixed the intro voice to use Seth Rogen's voice. Jorma Taccone makes a guest appearance as the mail man, and Akiva makes a guest appearance as the man who sells Andy the gun (which is appropriate, as members of The Lonely Island). We also see Paula Pell (a writer) in one of her rare face appearances (usually she just lends her voice).
Some people have already critized this one a bit, saying it's a rehash. It definitely has a similar setup to Natalie Raps (from about 3 years ago), and the shock gags are very similar to Sloth and Giraffes. The large fish muppet is a new concept. Jorma used to use muppets more before The Lonely Island joined Saturday Night Live. Specifically, I'm thinking of Stork Patrol and an episode of The Bu where they replaced Sarah Chalke with a muppet version. Of course, their love of Muppets also led to Andy Samberg doing the Swedish Chef role; the third in that series was also in this episode.
That's what Kristen Wiig's Debra gets for turning down Andy!!! (Who apparently played himself... as a boss in an office?) Abby and Bobby are hilarious to watch as they follow Andy down the hall.

Hahahahaha. Essentially they're calling this a commercial so that they can get two digital shorts in the same episode!
Andy and Seth work so well together! Do a movie! Seriously, this would make a good movie. I don't think you could stretch gay jokes out into two hours, but Andy Samberg and Seth Rogen make pretty funny competitive racers.

Hilarious! It's like the Boardroom Meeting skit with just some random shots at people. Not exactly a song, but it's hilarious!!! Batman finally showed his face.

Hilarious! I love that they kept addng to the gag as it went. This made it even funnier!
I love Andy's gag with the DVD player at the beginning. I also like the Highlander line. Plus Bill's wizard is hilarious, and Will, Bobby, and Kenan were funny as the band. I also like how the gazelle transforms.
Awesome! It's cool to see The Lonely Island mix these videos up! For example, Andy and Jorma were the leads in J--- in My Pants, Jorma and Kiv were the leads in We Like Sportz, and Andy and Kiv are the leads in I'm On A Boat. It's also cool that the third guy still makes an appearance in all of them.
So we have some pretty silly gags here. Stuff like Jorma getting harassed by the other guys, T-Pain saying that he never thought he'd be on a boat, the mermaid, and oh so much more.
Definitely a great piece both musically and comedically.

Digital Short: Everyone's A Critic
Paul Rudd paints a masterpiece of Andy Samberg in his latest film. Also features Fred Armisen, Kristen Wiig, Casey Wilson, and more.
Holy crack in the smack! Wow. This is a mix between gay jokes, random humor, and violent shock humor. Wow. I like the random stuff, but the rest... not so much. Andy and Paul were much funnier in the promo for this episode.
There's a lot of death and violence going on. So who wants to see what the portrait looks like? This seems like it's "The Ring" on crack! =^)

Andy answered the question of whose music this is: it's his. In other words, that's Andy's voice. Jorma mixed it up. Do you want it to be on their February Incredibad CD? I do.

Wow! Andy Samberg is accompanied by Jorma! This is Jorma's biggest role on SNL (other major ones were from Andy's first season, including the My Testicles song with Tom Hanks (Jorma was a prominent backup dancer) and in the Usual Suspects gag with Kevin Spacey (Jorma handed Kevin the fax from Andy and had a line).
Oh noes!!!1! That janitor is Justin Timberlake!!! My guess is that the Lonely Island wanted Jorma in it because they are keeping the music just the Lonely Island for their upcoming CD (finally).
This song is going to be their first single for that CD! That's why the singing is polished (nothing out of key), the music video is high quality (good editing and camera effects), and it has top notch supporting actors (can't get better than a cameo from Justin Timberlake and support from Molly Sims). So I'm sure they're hoping to see this vid on MTV and any other channels that sometimes might perhaps show some music videos maybe.
Akiva is the DJ and director. So all of the Island is in this vid! We want more! We want more singles for your album! You have three months!!! The anticipation makes me want ji- wait, no it doesn't.
Who is the woman? Molly Sims. From Las Vegas and The Benchwarmers. She also hosted House of Style (she started as a model) and was in Starsky & Hutch. I knew she looked familiar.

Andy! Andy! Andy! Gotta love the gag where he passes the black guys.
Wow! Andy managed to find a lot of interesting rasta terms for this one.
Andy needs to go get singing lessons. He's great most of the time, but he goes for the high notes in stuff like this and Best Look in the World and reveals his weaknesses. He needs to improve if he's going to keep doing these. That said, when he does these songs with musicians, then seems like the musicians produce him better.
Andy also needs a stronger song for this season. What with this one and Space Olympics, he hasn't found his Iran So Far, Junk in a Box, Young Chuck Norris, or Narnia Rap for this season yet. Keep looking Andy! You'll find it!

Nice! Now this is much more like it! We suggested they do something like this three weeks ago: just make fun of the Olympic events with fake events.
I think we pictured silliness a little closer to the actual Olympics, like maybe combining events... like gymnastic sailing... but weird silly events like chair pin and everything else here are also great.
SNL should totally do sequels of this, because they could think of hundreds of these things that would be hilarious.
They could have done better with the Andy turning into Anne effect. And they tend to like the Will Forte awkwardness a little bit more than I do (but I still like it okay). Other than that, pure gold. =^)

What is your favorite part?
- Andy turning around a corner at the beginning.
- Andy trying to balance a hat that doesn't seem to need balancing.
- Andy trying to act casual by leaning against a tree... without touching it.
- Andy completes Shoe Hands successfully, but Kristen can't.
- Andy turns into Anne Hathaway.
- Andy and Kristen "Do this."
- Any can't pin down a chair (our second favorite).
- Andy is a Human ATM and Keenan gets some dollars out of his buttocks (our first favorite).

I think it would be funnier just to come up with fake olympic events.
However, they deserve mad props for the effects. Cheesey? Yes, but I know how much work they put into those effects and the amount of work blows me away. Mad props.
