This song is from Andy's The Lonely Island CD, Incredibad. Fans want Boombox next, but this one made sense because the voice features Andy Samberg. Looks like they remixed the intro voice to use Seth Rogen's voice. Jorma Taccone makes a guest appearance as the mail man, and Akiva makes a guest appearance as the man who sells Andy the gun (which is appropriate, as members of The Lonely Island). We also see Paula Pell (a writer) in one of her rare face appearances (usually she just lends her voice).

Some people have already critized this one a bit, saying it's a rehash. It definitely has a similar setup to Natalie Raps (from about 3 years ago), and the shock gags are very similar to Sloth and Giraffes. The large fish muppet is a new concept. Jorma used to use muppets more before The Lonely Island joined Saturday Night Live. Specifically, I'm thinking of Stork Patrol and an episode of The Bu where they replaced Sarah Chalke with a muppet version. Of course, their love of Muppets also led to Andy Samberg doing the Swedish Chef role; the third in that series was also in this episode.

That's what Kristen Wiig's Debra gets for turning down Andy!!! (Who apparently played himself... as a boss in an office?) Abby and Bobby are hilarious to watch as they follow Andy down the hall.

Hilarious! I love that they kept addng to the gag as it went. This made it even funnier!

Awesome! It's cool to see The Lonely Island mix these videos up! For example, Andy and Jorma were the leads in J--- in My Pants, Jorma and Kiv were the leads in We Like Sportz, and Andy and Kiv are the leads in I'm On A Boat. It's also cool that the third guy still makes an appearance in all of them.

So we have some pretty silly gags here. Stuff like Jorma getting harassed by the other guys, T-Pain saying that he never thought he'd be on a boat, the mermaid, and oh so much more.

Definitely a great piece both musically and comedically.

Wow! Andy Samberg is accompanied by Jorma! This is Jorma's biggest role on SNL (other major ones were from Andy's first season, including the My Testicles song with Tom Hanks (Jorma was a prominent backup dancer) and in the Usual Suspects gag with Kevin Spacey (Jorma handed Kevin the fax from Andy and had a line).

Oh noes!!!1! That janitor is Justin Timberlake!!! My guess is that the Lonely Island wanted Jorma in it because they are keeping the music just the Lonely Island for their upcoming CD (finally).

This song is going to be their first single for that CD! That's why the singing is polished (nothing out of key), the music video is high quality (good editing and camera effects), and it has top notch supporting actors (can't get better than a cameo from Justin Timberlake and support from Molly Sims). So I'm sure they're hoping to see this vid on MTV and any other channels that sometimes might perhaps show some music videos maybe.

Akiva is the DJ and director. So all of the Island is in this vid! We want more! We want more singles for your album! You have three months!!! The anticipation makes me want ji- wait, no it doesn't.

Who is the woman? Molly Sims. From Las Vegas and The Benchwarmers. She also hosted House of Style (she started as a model) and was in Starsky & Hutch. I knew she looked familiar.

Here we journey back to 1991 to enjoy the strange clothes, weird hair, huge boomboxes, and most importantly, the bizarre music.

Tom Hanks joins The Lonely Island dudes Andy Samberg, Jorm, and Akiva (directing). They are also joined by almost the entire cast of Saturday Night Live. Lorne has come to realize that The Lonely Island is pure gold, and they should use their entire cast to play extras and background for their music videos (which hasn't happened in SNL history until now).

This song is mostly about how Tom and Andy would greatly appreciate it if you didn't chop off their testicles, smash their testicles, or, really, do anything to their testicles. Tom is a little wooden here (possibly on purpose), but Andy knocks one out of the park with his hilarious facial expressions and perfect vocal inflections. Enjoy!

For those who don't know who The Lonely Island is, they are three budding comedians who did online short films on TheLonelyIsland.com, they did a hit show, The Bu', on Channel101.com, they started writing for MTV awards shows, they met Jimmy Falon, got introduced to Lorne, they were hired onto SNL, and they did Lazy Sunday, the Chronicles of Narnia rap.

Andy is a Saturday Night Live playa', Jorm is an SNL writer/producer, and Akiva is an SNL writer/director. Andy got the spotlight (and the other two didn't) because he was extra busy working the comedy clubs, which is pretty much the training ground for SNL actors. However, all three will hit the spotlight soon as they star in their first movie. Plus, Lorne would have to be crazy to not pull Jorma into the playa's club after their first season!

Wow! Andy managed to find a lot of interesting rasta terms for this one.

Andy needs to go get singing lessons. He's great most of the time, but he goes for the high notes in stuff like this and Best Look in the World and reveals his weaknesses. He needs to improve if he's going to keep doing these. That said, when he does these songs with musicians, then seems like the musicians produce him better.

Andy also needs a stronger song for this season. What with this one and Space Olympics, he hasn't found his Iran So Far, Junk in a Box, Young Chuck Norris, or Narnia Rap for this season yet. Keep looking Andy! You'll find it!

Yeah. Um. Mostly weird. Really funny in parts. But, um, why is this a song? =^)

I think it would be funnier just to come up with fake olympic events.

However, they deserve mad props for the effects. Cheesey? Yes, but I know how much work they put into those effects and the amount of work blows me away. Mad props.

Andy Samberg pulls out another SNL Digital Short on the April 21, 2007 episode of Saturday Night Live.

This is basically Sloths but pointed at Roy instead. The good thing is that nobody is urinating on America's gravestone. That line really upset some people. Still, "burn his marriage license in a wastebin" is pretty close to the same thing.

Like the vulgar Sloths and Tucker's Song, this was obviously written by Brian Tucker, who plays Roy in this video.

However, a good counter point is that the Lonely Island dudes have potty mouths and senses of humor that go along with that. If they didn't think these things were funny, they wouldn't do them.


This song is more heavy metal than actual rap.

"And then macks on bananas."



Warning: It starts off silly, but then it becomes Andy wanting to have sex with Roy, with a lot of detail. This is a great idea, but it crosses over to the "offensive is funny" style of humor. Andy can come up with creative songs that are much more successful than this one. They should stop letting Brian write these songs. (Update: they did stop.)



Andy later said that this was his favorite sketch he's done at SNL. The reason is because he actually has a brother-in-law named Roy, and the guy shown at the end is actually Roy. He said that Roy thought it was really funny except for the sexual stuff, which is why Andy thought it was even funnier. Andy likes this one because he pulled a prank on his brother-in-law in front of millions of viewers.

I like how the font for "Roy Rules" is always medieval death metal, even though it's a different font every time. The Lonely Island boyz (i.e. Jorma) are getting better editing skillz.

It's another one of the videos where you aren't entirely sure why it is funny (like Andy Walking), but it still is funny.

Andy Samberg - Is Young Chuck Norris

This is a hilarious Saturday Night Live Music Video about Young Chuck Norris.

Andy Samberg has rocketed into fame, taking Chris Parnell along with him. Andy's been working for awhile at gaining this fame, as have the other two members of their Lonely Island Dudes.

The sad thing is that Jorm seems to be the twisted brains of the bunch. He seems to take the most twisted roles in their videos, which implies that he is writing his roles. However, Andy did his time on the comedy club circuit, and so Andy gets to be a featured player while the other two are SNL staff writers. Mark my words, Jorma will become a featured player in a year or two, and then we will be laughing at the ugly guy instead of the pretty one. In the meantime, Jorm, Akiva, and Andy are going to make Andy look really good.

While their humor is hit and miss, the Lonely Island Dudes seem to have found their niche with Saturday Night Live. The SNL environment has helped them find the best humor that lurks inside them. And that brings me to their newest hit video for SNL, "The Young Churck Norris."

This was written by the Lonely Island Dudes. Most people will agree that this is not better than the Narnia Rap. However, some (including my friend Travis), like this one better. To fully appreciate it you have to have been a fan of Chuck Norris at one point in your life.

So, what do you think?

This is a classic Jorma gag, specifically his rap, "My Pants." He also had this gag in the theme of Awesometown (and The Bu Episode 8). Plus, on the making of video of Hot Rod, Jorma walked around on the set without any pants.

I think this joke was more effective as a hardcore rap than a country song, especially because Andy and Shia are slightly off-key. I think Andy should do more raps, get other guys like Jason involved more often (Jason did Young Chuck Norris, and Will Forte can also sing well). Plus Andy should be taking voice lessons so that he can have a bigger range in his singing ability.

So, overall, I had a hard time enjoying the jokes due to the voices being off-key. However, the more often I watch it, the more I enjoy the gags and find this short hilarious.

Wow. They really had nothing this week. Bummer. They can do better than this. I know they can. They've got to put more stuff on the table before making a decision to go with something like this.

The funny thing is that these digital shorts have become so popular, that they went with this rather than cutting it like they would have in the past.

This might have actually been okay, if they would have concentrated on the song and the lyrics rather than the joke that it was so bad.

They might have been telling the truth and had lined up Gnarls to do something cool, and then he flaked, but, honestly, they should have had a backup plan like actually writing a full song with funny lyrics for this Daiquiri Girl concept. Or they could have just grabbed Ashton and ran around filming stuff with him. That would have worked fine.

I'm sure they could have ran around and sang songs to fans, improvised, and then edited it to something funny.

I was in the same boat as Kathleen (see her comment) until they ruined it with the text. Then it just came across as whining and blaming Gnarls for their own inability to have a good backup plan. I would have preferred it if they just concentrated on making the song itself funny with actual lyrics and silly gags like pouring the drinks on each other. They bailed out on this one, and it shows.

What gives? Usually they drop stinkers like these in the dress rehearsals. No one was laughing in the audience. Was the text on TV? It seems like no one laughed at all at the text, so that makes me wonder if they added it just for the Internet release.

This is a Saturday Night Live skit featuring Andy Samberg singing a gay love song to Iran leader Mahmoud after he came to New York. Part political satire and part cultural silliness. It also features Fred Armisen as Mahmoud, Adam Levine (lead singer of Maroon 5), and a special appearance by Jake Gyllenhaal.
